The Sage Colleges, Opalka Gallery: Private Eye (Group Exhibition)

Private Eye: selected works from a private collection

June 7 through August 9, 1999
The works included in this exhibition are a small selection of works from a personal collection assembled over the past quarter century. These thirty-seven pieces by thirty-three artists represent approximately a tenth of the collection.

The artists included are considered 'American' - though three were European born. The works are 'contemporary' - all but one created after mid-century. Two of the artists were born in the previous century and a third of the remaining were born prior to WWII. Works were chosen to give a sense of the particular strengths of the collection with an emphasis on works not previously exhibited in the Capital Region. For the sake of concision, only works created in the United States after 1942 are included.
